On Oct 20, 1977 a plane crash in a swamp near McComb, Mississippi tragically took the lives of Lynyrd Skynyrd leader Ronnie Van Zant, Guitarist Steve Gaines, his sister, backup singer Cassie Gaines, plus Road Manager Dean Kilpatrick.  This event changed the landscape of southern rock forever. Skynyrd Reloaded was formed to help fill that void. Since that day original members Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Billy Powell, Jo Jo Billingsley, Road Manager Ron Eckerman, and the last remaining Gary Rossington who all survived that crash have passed on as well,

Skynyrd Reloaded hails from Orange County California. Made up of professional musicians and recording artists from the area.  Formed in 2012 in part for our common love of southern rock and in part to help keep the great music of the original Skynyrd band alive. They've meticulously “Reloaded” the classic songs, faithfully capturing the raw and iconic sound of Skynyrd's legendary final 1977 tour. Prepare for all the anthems , the scorching guitar solos, and energy that defined a generation.

Skynyrd Reloaded was fortunate enough to share the stage with Artimus Pyle drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd 1974-1977.  He joined us on stage to sing “Sweet Home Alabama” and also played drums to “That Smell”. (see pics below)
We also became frynds and shared the stage with Ron Eckerman, Lynyrd Skynyrd Road Manager and plane crash survivor who spoke about the band and did a book signing at one of our gigs. (see pics below)
